The project comments from Laura are extremely helpful. She knows how to correct or constructively critique stories in a way that does not damage a writer's ego. Other people in the class do not have this ability… And there have been times on my blog and other students' blogs where I feel our peers have been too harsh in the comment sections.
Overall, I feel that the comments I have received have helped me become a better writer. So I will gladly take all of the helpful and harsh comments my peers can give me.

Hey, Jenny!
ReplyDeleteI definitely agree with what you said about Laura's comments. They are so helpful and so encouraging! When I read her comments for one story, I get really excited to write my next story, which is awesome. I think it's a tough balance to strike, being truly helpful while still maintaining full positivity, but she does it so well!
I like that we do so much commenting with our classmates. Sometimes it is kind of a bummer when it seems like my story wasn't so well-received by someone, but usually everyone has something nice to say, so I really enjoy reading them most of the time. And I agree, too, that even the harsh ones are helpful. There's a good mix among the class critics, I think, so that some people give me the realistic feedback I need to hear and some people give me the compliments I want to hear :) It has made me a better writer, for sure.
I was instantly drawn to this post because of that hilarious little cat picture. The caption is too witty! As much as I have a hard time giving others critical feedback I absolutely love getting it. I hardly see the mistakes others point out! It makes my writing just that much better! Commenting has proven to be the most difficult thing with this class. It can be difficult to figure out what to say!
